There’s still considerable friction at FC Barcelona because of their increasing injury list. It’s true that the Catalan club has survived thus far in spite of its difficulties, but it’s also true that these challenges will only grow worse. Barcelona wants to speak with them as soon as possible because of this.
The injury to Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is the most significant and pressing of these problems. The German goalkeeper’s injury sustained during the team’s victory over Villarreal made it evident to the team that they needed to address the problem right away to avoid potentially dire outcomes.
The current problem, though, is that Barcelona has to replace Ter Stegen immediately, but they don’t have many possibilities. The players they may be able to sign must be unrestricted free agents whose salaries may be divided by Ter Stegen’s pay in proportion.
Because of this, it appears that Barcelona has located a former goalie for Atletico Madrid who isn’t with a team right now. According to SPORT, Barcelona is still keeping an eye on this specific goalie, who is a 37-year-old Spaniard named Antonio Adan. His most recent club was Sporting CP in Portugal.
Even more to his advantage when it comes to appealing to Barcelona is his extensive La Liga expertise. He is a real veteran of the Spanish First Division, having started his career in the Real Madrid minor teams and going on to play for Real Betis and Atletico Madrid.
Additionally, the club has a solid understanding of his profile and the kind of talent he would offer having previously played for Real Betis under the tutelage of Heiko Westermann, who currently assists Hansi Flick at Barcelona. Nevertheless, despite this enthusiasm, there is still no assurance that he would surpass Inaki Pena in the team’s hierarchy or if Pena would only be receiving.
