Olympics final thoughts and Mavericks schedule starts to leak.
Lately, every Tuesday has started with Josh and I exchanging messages, trying to figure out what we’re going to talk about. This week’s beginning was easy: I wanted to talk about Team USA winning gold and those amazing final two games for the Americans.
So that’s where we start, with Josh listening to me talk a whole bunch. Then we pivot to wondering what kind of change Dereck Lively stands to make the 2028 squad. He’ll for sure be on the Select Team, but I really think he fits with the senior team. He’s the ideal role player and he’s so big and skilled. He works, and I hope they consider him.
After that talk, we take a short break then pivot to the schedule. The Mavericks open the season with a game against the Spurs. Past that, we have information on the In-Season tournament grouping, which is going to be really difficult, and we know Dallas will play the Minnesota Timberwolves on Christmas Day.
We end with me rambling about my time as a youth coach this summer and Josh bringing up the Regional Sports Network collapse and what that may mean for Dallas fans in the coming season. All in all, this isn’t our best show, but we’re still humming along.
