New York Rangers Announce 63 Players Invited to Training Camp

The New York Rangers have unveiled their roster and schedule for the 2024-’25 Training Camp, ending the anticipation for fans.

Players are set to report on September 18 for off-ice evaluations. The first on-ice practice will occur on Thursday, September 19, at the MSG Training Center in Tarrytown. The camp will continue through Sunday, October 6, and will feature six preseason games: September 22 at Boston (5:00 PM ET), September 24 against the New York Islanders (7:00 PM ET), September 26 against Boston (7:00 PM ET), September 30 at New Jersey (7:00 PM ET), October 1 against New Jersey (7:00 PM ET), and October 4 at New York Islanders (7:00 PM ET).

A total of 63 players have been invited to the camp, including 36 forwards, 21 defensemen, and six goaltenders.

Notable attendees include Brett Berard, Adam Estrom, Brennan Othmann, Matt Rempe, Mathew Robertson, and Adam Sykora. Newcomers Reilly Smith and Sam Carrick, who joined the team in July, will also participate in their first camp as Rangers.

Carrick, 32, recorded 10 goals and six assists for 16 points across 77 games with the Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim Ducks last season. He has accumulated 28 goals and 25 assists for 53 points in 240 career NHL games with the Oilers, Ducks, and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Smith, 33, scored 13 goals and added 27 assists for 40 points in 76 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2023-24 season. Over his 13-season NHL career, Smith has played with the Penguins, Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers, and Vegas Golden Knights, accumulating 513 points (213 goals, 300 assists) in 840 regular-season games.
