EXCLUSIVE: Former skipper Asghar Afghan says Australia is thinking up reasons not to play against Afghanistan.

The Afghanistan cricket team has faced Australia in two Twenty20 Internationals thus far, winning one of them.

The Australian cricket team has declined to play against the Afghanistan cricket team as much during the past two years due to the latter’s dismal record on women’s human rights. However, the Afghanistan squad views this as their unwillingness to take on a team that, given the right circumstances, can defeat any opposition.Former Afghanistan skipper Asghar Afghan spoke to InsideSport exclusively and spoke about the entire issue. At the sidelines of Legends League Cricket, Afghan said, “Earlier when we used to play against teams, even the weaker ones, there was a lot of pressure on us. I think, these days, the pressure has come on Australia, if they play against us. There is a fear of playing us and losing. That pressure is something else.
