Haaland advised Arteta to “remain humble” following Manchester City’s miraculous 2-2 draw with their fiercest rivals.
In a passionate post-match handshake, Erling Haaland advised Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to “stay humble” after Manchester City salvaged a 2-2 draw in a hard-fought contest at the Etihad.
After the full-time whistle, Haaland gave Arteta a pat on the back and advised the Arsenal manager to “stay humble, eh, stay humble.”
After hearing the remark, Arteta spun to face Haaland, staring at the Norwegian striker before turning and leaving.
After hearing the remark, Gabriel Jesus turned to face Haaland and yelled, “Come, come, why you saying, you talking,” as assistant manager of Arsenal Albert Stuivenberg leaned close.
As Jack Grealish intervened to keep Ben White and Jesus apart, Haaland shoved Jesus aside. Arteta then hauled the two out of the path to face the Arsenal fans.
Haaland, who had earlier in the game scored his 100th goal for City, also got into a brawl with defender Gabriel after John Stones’ equalizer in the 98th minute.
As Gabriel fled to celebrate with his teammates, Haaland grabbed the ball from the net and bounced it off the back of his head.
Haaland raced straight at Gabriel when Arsenal kicked off to resume play, setting off another altercation between the Premier League championship contenders.
