Big Midweek: Liverpool hosts West Ham, Man Utd returns to Europe, and Arteta makes decisions

Arsenal is erratic, West Ham has to become better, and Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is the guy to watch. You fortunate folks have an exciting midweek filled with Europa League and Carabao Cup activity.

Watch the Liverpool vs. West Ham match.
After their respective 3-0 weekend results, Liverpool and West Ham went into Wednesday’s game at Anfield feeling extremely confident and the other quite sorry for themselves. The Hammers’ performance against Chelsea at home was appalling; the team should have won by more than three goals, and playing Liverpool away is a terrible way to end the season.

That does not exclude Julen Lopetegui from orchestrating a noteworthy triumph. This season, Nottingham Forest has already defeated Liverpool at Anfield, and this is Arne Slot’s Liverpool, not Jurgen Klopp’s.

If West Ham want to avoid losing at the same stadium and having their pants pulled down once more, they must make significant progress.

Watch out for: Arsenal
It’s very hard to forecast the Carabao Cup lineups, but for Arsenal, we may see either seven youngsters starting or Mikel Arteta going all out to bully and flat-track Bolton Wanderers in League One.

With so many individuals we should be watching, they are the squad to monitor because of the uncertainty surrounding their starting lineup. Both Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly, who are particularly interesting, should start.

Ayden Heaven may start at center defense, and David Raya is questionable in goal, therefore one of Jack Porter, 16, Alexei Rojas, or Brian Okonkwo, 18, might take the starting position. Tommy Setford, a summer addition, is questionable about his health. If he is available, he would preferable over the aforementioned trio. Since Neto is cup-tied, the Gunners made a strange move in loaning him from Bournemouth.

Due to his stupid red card against Manchester United, Leandro Trossard has been banned.

Manager to watch: Erik ten Hag
Man Utd ‘ate Crystal Palace alive’ on Saturday but could not score past an inspired and not-at-all-bitter Dean Henderson. That was Erik ten Hag’s assessment following his side’s 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park and the Dutch manager needs to deliver a strong goalscoring performance against FC Twente in the Europa League this midweek.

Ten Hag will likely bring Rasmus Hojlund back into the starting XI and Mason Mount should have a part to play but getting off to a strong start in the Europa League, no matter who is on the pitch and how they do it, is imperative for the Red Devils manager.

Winning the Europa League is something Man Utd should aim to do this term and if Ten Hag can make it one trophy in each of his three seasons at the club, then he will be able to continue shutting up his very loud critics.

While Ten Hag grew up supporting Twente, there aren’t many easy games in Europe. However, this is the moment to make a statement in a very winnable league, which will make up for the Premier League’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.

It will be crucial for Ten Hag to banish his European demons following his miserable Champions League campaign last season. Ten Hag hasn’t had a fantastic European season since leading that Ajax squad.

One to keep an eye on: Ben Chilwel

Hopefully tomorrow, we can give him a few minutes. It was his idea to walk out. He is a member of the squad and is training right now. Tomorrow, he will be part of the squad, and maybe we may provide him with

After Saturday’s victory over West Ham, Maresca could easily start a completely different lineup, and Chilwell isn’t the only player who has to perform well.
