Liverpool has confirmed its 23-man squad for the Champions League clash against AC Milan, including forward Federico Chiesa. Although Chiesa is set to make his debut for Liverpool, he brings a strong track record at the San Siro from his Serie A days and might make his first appearance for the club on Tuesday night.
Alexis Mac Allister was withdrawn after an hour in Liverpool’s loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday and had been closely managed by Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni during the international break. Nevertheless, he has been named in the squad for the upcoming game.
Given that Chiesa has not played in a competitive match since Italy’s loss to Switzerland at Euro 2024, it’s more probable that his Liverpool debut will be as a substitute.
The only first-team player missing from the trip to Italy is Harvey Elliott. Elliott, who fractured his foot during the recent international break, is expected to be sidelined until after the October international break.
