Olympique de Marseille secure Neal Maupay on loan from Everton

Neal has joined Olympique de Marseille on a loan from Everton FC, with a buyout option.

Maupay established himself in Ligue 1 quite fast after starting his professional career at OGC Nice at the age of 16.

He was the second youngest player to score a goal in his first season and the fourth youngest player to appear in the French league.

With Nice, the 28-year-old striker made 53 appearances and scored nine goals.

After leaving Nice, Maupay joined AS Saint-Etienne, where he participated in the European Cup and acquired experience. After that, he played for Stade Brestois in 2016–17, finishing with 13 goals in 32 games.

Maupay joined Brentford FC in the Championship in 2017, and in 95 games, he scored 41 goals and provided 14 assists, further showcasing his skill. Due to his success, he was able to join Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League in 2019. He stayed there for two seasons before joining Everton FC in 2022.
