Saïd Benrahma, 29, is reportedly not thrilled with his playing time at Olympique Lyonnais this season and hasn’t been disguising his dissatisfaction with his new circumstances, according to a report by L’Équipe.
Benrahma relocated from West Ham United to Lyon in January of last year. The winger arrived beyond the transfer window when it appeared that an administrative blunder had prevented his deadline-day move. After this was resolved in the days that followed, the Algerian winger started to play a significant role in the team that rose from the bottom of the standings and earned a spot in the European football league.
Benrahma made 15 appearances for the team in all competitions last season, tallying three goals and dishing out four assists. After starting in Lyon’s first two losses of the season, the winger appeared to be a lock to stay in the starting lineup.
But since the defeat to AS Monaco on August 24, he has neither started a game nor come off the bench.
