Haaland, Acerbi and the art of the shirt swap

Perhaps he was pushing his luck, Inter Milan defender Francesco Acerbi joked after Wednesday night’s Champions League play by asking Manchester City star Erling Haaland for two shirts.

In football, however, it has long been customary to switch shirts, and many players take great satisfaction in the spectacular collections they are able to assemble.

Naturally, some jerseys are more in demand than others; one team even brings many bags to games in order to distribute them on behalf of their star player.
